My husband, Carlos, and I visited San Pedro a couple of times before permanently escaping the chilly northern winters of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania (USA) in 2009 to relocate to San Pedro, Belize. The stunning turquoise water of the Caribbean Sea and kind and caring people are what drew us in.
Shortly after moving, we decided to put down roots here and started a family. Today, we have two amazing boys who love their hometown and can't imagine growing up anywhere else. They especially enjoy the freedom they have running the beach with their friends, swimming, fishing, or just kicking the ball around.
Prior to joining Re/Max Island Real Estate, I worked in property management on the island and juggled multiple home owners and priorities at once. I can easily discuss with clients considering a home or condo purchase what it is like to own and manage a vacation rental - everything from Belize Tourism Board licensing to coordinating daily maintenance and cleaning schedules, guest arrivals and departures, managing reservations, corresponding with guests and home owners, paying invoices, taxes and payroll and preparing home owner statements. This type of experience goes a long way when real estate is purchased as an investment.
While managing properties, I, along with my husband, have operated several small businesses in San Pedro. I know the reality of starting, growing, buying and selling a business on Ambergris Caye and can share my experience with clients who may be looking to do the same. There is no one better to talk to or put your trust in than someone who has walked in your shoes.
Outside of work, I spend time reading books, cooking, boating and taking long walks on the beach with Max, my dog. If there is an opportunity to spend time with good friends, I am in.
